Dr. Wade Newman Donates $2,000 to ADOAA

We are excited to share that Dr. Wade Newman, owner of Eagle Valley Family Dentistry, has generously donated $2,000 to support the Autosomal Dominant Optic Atrophy Association (ADOAA).

About ADOAA

The Autosomal Dominant Optic Atrophy Association (ADOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Adam and Lindsey Allen after their daughter, Sofia, was diagnosed with Autosomal Dominant Optic Atrophy (ADOA) in 2012 at the age of three. ADOA is a rare, inherited condition that causes progressive vision loss due to the deterioration of the optic nerve and other nerve damage in the body. Currently, there is no treatment, no cure, and no definitive way to know when the progression of vision loss might stop.

Our Mission:

  • Raise Awareness: Shine a light on ADOA so families can better understand the condition and feel supported.

  • Provide Community: Connect families affected by ADOA, share personal stories, and offer encouragement in navigating this diagnosis.

  • Fund Research: Help drive and fund medical research aimed at finding a cure for ADOA.

By sharing our journey, learning your story, and keeping you informed about the latest research and developments, we aim to unite families worldwide to advance research efforts and, ultimately, find a cure for ADOA.

How Dr. Newman’s Donation Helps

Dr. Newman’s contribution directly supports our ongoing efforts to:

  1. Expand Research Funding: We allocate resources to help researchers investigate potential treatments and paths to a cure for ADOA.

  2. Strengthen Community Support: We provide education, updates, and community connections for families seeking information and encouragement.

  3. Raise Global Awareness: Through advocacy and outreach, we hope to reach more families, healthcare providers, and potential research collaborators.

“We’re incredibly grateful for Dr. Newman’s generosity,” says Adam Allen, co-founder of ADOAA. “Every donation is a step forward in helping families affected by ADOA find hope, support, and eventually, a cure.”
